Completion of a BS in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related engineering degree.
At least 3 years of directly related experience
Good communication skills including the ability to comprehend and convey detailed technical data (meetings, email, presentations, and customer deliverables)
Ability to develop networks and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
Works collaboratively within a team environment.
Strong Advanced problem identification and problem resolution skills.
Displays informal leadership characteristics.

Previous experience in nuclear fuel design, particularly for Pressurized Water Reactors (PWRs), and the licensing process of commercial nuclear reactors is desired, although not required.

As an Experienced Fuel Mechanical Analysis Engineer in Lynchburg, VA, you will be part of the proven team in the Fuel Business Unit. Your work will include:
Perform various mechanical/structural analyses tasks associated with nuclear fuel designs and related components, including static structural analyses, dynamic analyses for seismic and accident conditions, flow-induced vibration (FIV) and fretting wear assessments.
Apply engineering theory and analytical tools (e.g. finite element analysis) to solve problems.
Define and interpret testing to understand structural and dynamic behavior and failure mechanisms of structures.
Simulate structural and dynamic behavior of structures using numerical methods.

Your Total Rewards Package
The range of base salary for the position is between $83,000 - $113,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
