Position Overview : We are seeking a Field Applications Engineer with an engineering mindset who can not only repair and maintain our fleet of heavy machinery but also contribute to the development and improvement of our equipment designs. This position requires a strong mechanical background, the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems, and the technical acumen to collaborate on product design enhancements. Key Responsibilities : Maintenance and Repair : Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, cranes, loaders, and more. Engineering Support : Collaborate with the product design and engineering teams to provide insights on product improvements, modifications, and design feedback based on hands-on experience with machinery. Design Input : Assist with the conceptualization and testing of new equipment designs, providing input from a mechanical and operational standpoint to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety. Prototype Testing : Conduct trials and tests on newly designed machinery to identify potential issues and suggest improvements based on real-world performance. Problem Solving : Apply engineering principles to identify root causes of mechanical issues and develop creative, effective solutions to improve performance and longevity. Documentation and Reporting : Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, maintenance schedules, and design feedback to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Training and Mentoring : Provide guidance and training to other mechanics and staff, sharing knowledge of advanced diagnostic techniques, mechanical systems, and design considerations. Continuous Improvement : Stay current with technological advancements in heavy equipment design and mechanics to ensure the continuous evolution of machinery. Qualifications : High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is preferred). Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic (5+ years), with extensive knowledge of various types of heavy machinery and mechanical systems. Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills, with a deep understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Working knowledge of engineering principles and product design processes. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, schematics, and technical manuals. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD designs. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to provide creative solutions in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with engineers, designers, and other mechanics effectively. Willingness to continue learning and grow in a multidisciplinary environment.

Pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education and other job-related reasons. The annual salary range for this position is $85,000 - $95,000.
