*About the Role:* Join a *premium European automotive components manufacturer* with a *60+ year legacy* of innovation in engineering and manufacturing. We are seeking a *Firmware Engineer* to design and develop low-level embedded software for cutting-edge mechatronic systems. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of hardware and software, contributing to the future of high-performance vehicles.

*Key Responsibilities:*

* Define software specifications that meet system and customer requirements. * Develop application software for mechatronic systems, including maintaining existing code bases and creating new functionality. * Configure operating systems and other third-party basic software modules. * Debug software in *SIL/HIL environments*, at the bench, and in vehicles, utilizing in-circuit debuggers. * Develop toolchains to automate code generation and software builds. * Ensure software development adheres to corporate processes (*A-SPICE*) and complies with functional safety standards (*ISO 26262*) where applicable. * Analyze and resolve anomalies and change requests from internal teams or customers.

*Qualifications:*

* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in *Computer Engineering, Automation Engineering, or Computer Science*. * Experience in *automotive, aerospace, railway, home appliances, IoT, or industrial automation sectors*. * Expertise in embedded software development and programming on microcontrollers, including the use of laboratory equipment and in-circuit debuggers. * Proficiency in the *AUTOSAR architecture*. * Knowledge of *Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow* and scripting languages (*Python* preferred) is a plus. * Familiarity with BLDC motors and their control techniques is welcome. * Experience with version control, issue tracking, and requirements management tools. * Knowledge of semi-formal documentation techniques (e.g., UML) is a bonus. * Fluency in English is required.
