OverviewKlavis AI provides open-source MCP integration for AI applications, enabling enterprise-grade MCP servers to integrate with AI applications quickly. We've raised $2.1min seed round from HSG(formerly known as Sequoia China), Y Combinator and top-tier investors, and our open-source tools are already used by thousands of developersAs a founding engineer, you’ll turn prototypes into production-grade services, powering everything from MCP servers to authentication, eval, security systems.You’ll collaborate directly with the founders to design scalable systems, and work hand-in-hand with open-source contributors and early adopters. If you’re passionate about building startup, developer experience, and building tools that enable AI applications to run reliably at scale, we’d love to hear from you.ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and operate secure MCP serverBuild orchestration and deployment pipelinesDevelop intuitive APIs for provisioning, scaling, and monitoring MCP instancesEngage with users and community contributors to gather feedback, publish technical docs, and grow our ecosystemContribute to product strategy, technical research, and long-term vision across the stackQualifications[Required]2+ years building and operating production infrastructure servicesProficiency in one or more of: Python, TypeScriptHands-on experience with containers, serverless platforms (e.g., Cloud Run)Strong understanding of authentication, authorizationPassion for developer tools, open-source communities, and AI infrastructureThrives in fast-moving, ambiguous startup environments[Preferred]Open-source contributions in infra-related projects or MCP/AI Agent frameworksPrior work on AI-centric tooling, prompt-engineering platforms, or guardrail systemsAI research experience in industryWhat We OfferEarly-stage ownership – Join as a founding engineer with meaningful compensation + equity and direct impactTechnical breadth – From low-level container runtimes to developer-facing APIs and frameworksCommunity growth – Help shape an open-source ecosystem and engage with a thriving developer baseFlexible work – Fully remote (US) or hybrid in San Francisco, with generous time-off and tooling stipendsMentorship & culture – Work closely with founders, receive direct feedback, and grow into a leadership roleProcessWe move fast but thoughtfully.
