Founding Product Engineer — Healthcare AI Startup Full-time | Hybrid (New York City) | $180k–$250k + Equity About the Opportunity A venture-backed AI startup is building agentic automation tools to streamline complex administrative workflows in healthcare. Starting with the home health space, the platform helps care providers reduce paperwork, improve cash flow, and focus more on patients by automating critical revenue cycle operations like prior authorizations, eligibility checks, and benefit verification. They are now hiring a Founding Product Engineer to lead product development for a major slice of their AI platform. This is a high-ownership, hybrid role that blends hands-on engineering, product leadership, and real-world problem-solving in a tightly regulated domain. This is a unique opportunity for an engineer who wants to work on AI-native tools and rapidly evolve into a domain-owning product leader as the company scales. What You’ll Do Lead the development of end-to-end automation in a core healthcare domain (e.g., voice scribe, LLM-based medical coding, or billing/accounts receivable) Own product roadmap and success metrics (e.g., time to reimbursement, claim approval rate) Translate messy edge cases into clearly scoped features and product specs Partner with subject-matter experts, model engineers, and backend teams to ship cross-functional tools Build and monitor dashboards to track system accuracy, latency, and financial outcomes Incorporate compliance, security, and auditability (HIPAA, payer rules, etc.) into the product lifecycle Who We’re Looking For 2+ years of experience in product engineering or technical product roles, ideally in healthcare or AI/automation Strong technical background and product intuition; comfortable owning projects from idea to deployment Excellent communicator who can work across business, clinical, and technical teams Familiarity with building secure, compliant systems in regulated industries Preference for candidates with prior experience in: Voice Scribe / AI-powered transcription workflows Medical coding automation using LLMs Revenue cycle operations (billing, claims, AR) Tech Environment Frontend: React, Next.js, Posthog, AWS Amplify Competitive equity package Hybrid role: 3–5 days/week in NYC office Opportunity to grow into a Director-level product or engineering leadership role About the Company This fast-moving, founder-led startup—launched in 2025—is reimagining revenue cycle management in healthcare through AI.
