Responsibilities
UES is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Nashville team as part of the UES Southeast Region. This position entails the delivery of comprehensive geotechnical services through the coordination and execution of field explorations and laboratory testing, the analysis/evaluation of those findings, the preparation of geotechnical reports, and communication with Alpha clients.
- Perform geotechnical analysis and studies to assess construction site conditions
- Plan and conduct geotechnical explorations effectively
- Perform field and environmental investigations for construction projects
- Assist project professionals with project execution, proposal, and report preparation.
- Execute smaller projects to gain experience in project management
- Coordinate required testing/sampling with drill crews and assist with field activities
- Interpret field data and assign laboratory testing
- Communicate results of field and laboratory testing, and geotechnical recommendations, to clients
- Prepare geotechnical reports
- Perform field inspections during construction
- Cross train with the Construction Materials Testing and Environmental divisions as necessary
Qualifications

- B.S. in Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering (required)
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred or. (Ability to obtain within 1 year of employment) Engineer in Training (EIT) required or Ability to obtain within 1 year of employment)
- 2 years minimum of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
- Proficient in industry-standard geotechnical software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
