High Performance Computing (HPC) Engineer TS/SCI with Polygraph
Help tackle some of the hardest problems in national security by optimizing complex compute systems built for speed, scale, and scientific insight. As an HPC Engineer , you'll support mission-critical operations across GPU- and CPU-based clusters, enabling advanced analytics, modeling, and simulations on some of the most powerful systems in government computing.
What You'll Do:
Administer, monitor, and maintain High Performance Computing (HPC) environments including Cray systems, commodity clusters, and Nvidia GPU nodes
Support users in deploying jobs, managing queues, and extracting insights via MPI/OpenMPI-based applications
Lead performance tuning, diagnostics, and system-level troubleshooting across HPC infrastructure
Perform OS and firmware upgrades, software patching, and cluster health checks
Optimize job submissions, workflows, and data throughput in a Linux-based environment using SLURM
Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and data scientists to ensure HPC resources deliver fast, accurate results
Act as a bridge between specialty code users and compute hardware, ensuring analytic applications run efficiently
Conduct ongoing performance analysis and produce reports on system operations and job efficiency
Escalate hardware/software issues as needed and work closely with vendor support teams
Contribute to enhancements in tooling, automation, and service offerings across the HPC environment
What You Bring:
6+ years of hands-on experience supporting or administering HPC environments
Deep familiarity with Linux , MPI/OpenMPI , SLURM , and clustered compute systems
Proven ability to integrate and automate across disparate systems
Previous experience managing environments with GPUs , CUDA , and high-speed networking is preferred
Background in systems architecture, operations, and performance optimization
Experience with software integration or scientific/engineering workflows is a plus
Knowledge of the Sponsors security requirements and operational environment
Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required
Eligibility to receive privileged access rights
