Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) Onsite (Camp Pendleton, CA)
Contingent Position
An organization is seeking to hire an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to support a defense-focused project onsite at Camp Pendleton, CA. This position supports a government contract providing Data Management and Cybersecurity services in support of Testing, Engineering, Integration, and Sustainment of Marine Corps C5ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) systems.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:Determine client security control requirements.
Implement security controls in Marine Corps Compliance and Authorization Support Tool (MCCAST).
Conduct annual reviews of each MCCAST records security controls (via testing, examining, or interviewing).
Assess the effectiveness of cybersecurity measures used by systems.
Assess threats and vulnerabilities of computer systems to develop a security risk profile.
Identify and direct the remediation of technical problems during testing and implementation of new systems.
Identify, assess, and recommend cybersecurity or cybersecurity-enabled products for system use and ensure compliance with organizational validation requirements.
Work with customers to determine functional needs, develop secure architectures, and communicate security best practices and policies.
Document solutions for any network-related security configurations for network architecture or current programs and experiments.
Develop, implement, and document best practices for securing network devices, applications, servers, databases, and system components.
Perform cybersecurity hardening and security monitoring on network infrastructures (e.g., STIGs, patching, ACAS scanning).
Manage and maintain security-related configurations within the network based on operational requirements.
Incorporate cybersecurity vulnerability solutions into system designs (e.g., Cybersecurity Vulnerability Alerts).
Provide guidelines for implementing developed systems to customers.
Provide input to the Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities and related documentation.
Support security/certification test and evaluation activities.
Ensure that security design and cybersecurity development activities are properly documented.
Completion of a CNSSI 4014 Information Systems Security Officers (ISSO) qualified course or equivalent.
CompTIA Security+ Certification.
Experience with Marine Corps Information Security programs, authorization procedures and requirements, and interaction with higher military headquarters elements.
Active Secret Security Clearance.
Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field.
Certified Authorization Professional (CAP) Certification.
GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC).
Completion of CID M09BNJ1 Cybersecurity Technician course.
Completion of CNSSI 4013 System Administrators qualified course.
NDU CISO certificate Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
