Our work depends on an Information Technology (IT) Asset Visibility and Security Engineer joining our team to analyze design, develop, implement, and support code for our government customer, the United States Postal Service. HOW AN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) ASSET VISIBILITY AND SECURITY ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT In this role, a typical day will include: Technical contributor that will be implementing USPS cybersecurity strategies protecting the digital network, connected assets, hosted applications and data, and employees within the Information Technology (IT) environment. Candidates must have strong demonstrated experience in large enterprise IT environment WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED: Education : Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, preferred but not required. NOTE: If resources do not have a relevant college degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required. Required Experience : 8+ years of IT security experience and application of asset visibility solutions towards IT hardware and software asset management security efforts supporting both IT operations and security efforts including network access control, Comply to Connect and Remain, vulnerability management, and security event investigation support Specific technical knowledge, experience, and certifications with relevant tools such as Armis Centrix, Network security and infrastructure Splunk use and knowledge object development Windows and Linux system administration Python scripting and automation implementation Candidates would benefit from having relevant technical certifications (CISSP, CISA, CISM, GIAC, RHCE, CPTE, or CEH) Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts Ability to build & maintain schedules and step-by-step action plans Strong interpersonal and organizational skills Ability to positively influence peer organization and key stakeholders. Security Clearance Level: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting This position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.
