About the Opportunity
A stealth-mode AI infrastructure startup is building the foundational orchestration and compute platform for the next era of agent-based systems. Backed by top-tier investors and led by engineers from Google and Stripe, this team is pioneering a new stack designed to support real-time, production-scale AI software development.

They’re now hiring an Infrastructure Software Engineer to help design, build, and scale a modern infra stack purpose-built for AI workloads. You’ll work across low-level container technologies, microVMs, and orchestration layers to shape the backbone of a novel AI software platform.

What You’ll Do

Develop and maintain core infrastructure systems: MicroVMs, container runtimes, build pipelines, and orchestration layers

Work closely with product engineers to integrate infrastructure with AI agent tooling

Optimize infra performance, reliability, and cost across multi-cloud environments

Build internal tooling and automation using modern infra-as-code frameworks

Implement observability, alerting, and monitoring systems to ensure uptime and system health

Stay on the edge of infrastructure innovation: Firecracker, Kata Containers, OverlayBD, etc.

What We’re Looking For

4+ years of experience building and scaling infrastructure systems

Strong background in containerization, orchestration (Kubernetes), and cloud services (AWS/GCP)

Experience with tools like ContainerD, Firecracker, Pulumi, Terraform, or similar

Familiarity with backend languages such as Go, Rust, Python, or Java

Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment and contributing across the stack

Must be located in or willing to relocate to San Francisco (in-office 4 days/week)
