Overview

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Systems Engineer to support IT operations, including helpdesk services, network and system administration, and enterprise application support. This role is critical to ensuring seamless technology performance and high-quality IT services that enable employees to remain focused on their mission.

Responsibilities

The Intermediate Systems Engineer will:

  • Plan and coordinate the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
  • Develop work plans and schedules for the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems, and applications software.
  • Manage user accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment.
  • Monitor and manage system resources, including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability.
  • Implement and maintain security procedures and tools.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures for systems administration.
  • Resolve hardware/software interface and interoperability issues.
  • Ensure systems availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiency.
  • Maintain systems configuration and integrate hardware/software components in the systems environment.
  • Evaluate new systems engineering technologies and assess their impact on existing environments.
  • Manage installation and integration of system fixes, updates, and enhancements.
  • Apply information security and information assurance principles in the delivery of systems administration services.
  • Work independently to assess and adapt to new systems, becoming proficient in their usage.
  • Provide Tier II support to end-users and deliver project briefs to senior executives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing IT systems at a senior level.
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field (preferred).
  • At least one technical certification, such as:
    • VMWare Certified Professional (VCP-DCV or higher),
    • MCSE: Infrastructure or MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure,
    • MCSD: Azure Solutions Architect,
    • MCSA: Windows Server 2012 or higher,
    • Red Hat, or equivalent.
  • Strong customer service and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in researching and resolving complex technical problems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for both systems and networks.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server operating systems (specifically Windows Server 2012 R2).
  • Knowledge of storage technologies (iSCSI and NAS) and enterprise backup solutions.
  • Experience with Linux environments.
  • Capable of performing detail-oriented tasks independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Active Secret clearance or higher required
