IT Network Engineer

CTG is seeking to fill an IT Network Engineer opening for our client in Abilene, TX.
Location: Abilene, TX
Duration: 2 months
Duties:
Expand, plan, and maintain the IT infrastructure to meet organizational needs.
Design and implement new applications within the IT environment.
Solve structural IT issues to ensure operational continuity and efficiency.
Evaluate mainframe and server-level IT environments to determine necessary upgrades, changes, and expansions.
Conduct feasibility studies and assess alternative hardware/software solutions.
Perform cost-benefit analyses to support decision-making and provide recommendations.
Implement approved changes, upgrades, and expansions to optimize system performance.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of architecture, policies, and procedures.
Train and supervise infrastructure users to ensure efficient use of systems.
Monitor and maintain network systems to ensure security and performance standards are met.
Implement network and system security protocols to protect against threats.
Provide technical support and guidance to junior network engineers.
Skills:
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
Proficiency in configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Strong documentation and organizational abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
Experience:
Prior experience in IT infrastructure planning and network engineering.
Hands-on experience with both hardware and software network solutions.
Background in conducting cost-benefit analyses and feasibility studies.
Experience in implementing and maintaining network security measures.
Education:
High School Diploma required. Additional certifications in networking (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA) are a plus.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
