WEC Business Services, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Network Engineer (IT Infrastructure Consultant) in our Milwaukee, Pewaukee, or Green Bay, Wisconsin locations. This position offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time spent in the office.
This position is part of a job family (IT Infrastructure Consultant and Senior IT Infrastructure Consultant) where experience will be the determining factor.
Job Summary As an IT Infrastructure Consultant for the Network Infrastructure Team, you will work as a member of the team to support the company’s IT infrastructure and be involved in both design & engineering and operational activities. You will work on specific functional areas including, but are not limited ***** LAN/WAN systems, telecommunications, voice/wire/RF/optical systems, cyber security and firewalls, system software, applications, and databases. Additionally, this team works on Cloud Technologies, such AWS/Azure Network Engineering. The Infrastructure Consultants responsibilities include design & engineering tasks such as planning, evaluating, designing, and testing of systems, in addition to consulting, budgeting, cost analysis, and vendor analysis. Job Responsibilities Plan, design, and engineer various device and system configurations utilizing prescribed methods. Implement, operate, and support various devices and systems utilizing prescribed methods. Implement, configure, test, and debug the systems in these functional areas, in addition to consulting, problem resolution, performance and monitoring, and production control. Perform routine systems work requiring application of standard techniques and procedures. Develop working knowledge of systems, equipment, and supporting applications, and how they support the business. Work assignments may include 24x7 coverage. May require travel to other locations. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree 2+ years of relevant network/infrastructure experience Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or a related discipline. 5+ years of relevant experience Firewall Certifications (Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Cisco) Cisco CCNA/CCNP AWS/Azure/GCP Network Administration
