PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Responsible for coordinating deployment of hardware and software systems according to company policies. Manage the helpdesk operations and provide support for employees both during and after business hours as needed. Oversee the purchase, organization, and obsoletion of IT inventory assets. Responsible for patching endpoints and servers and monitoring compliance status. Provide monitoring and support of IT infrastructure at both our Largo and Cleveland, TN sites. Will work with IT leadership to recommend, improve and adopt new technologies and the company's cybersecurity posture.
AN IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:
Possess 8+ years of IT experience.
Be able to multitask and work multiple roles while maintaining priorities and due dates.
Possess a good understanding of servers and desktop hardware and software, network switches, and mobile devices.
Be able to troubleshoot and resolve Windows and Linux server issues.
Have experience in cable management and rack mounting of servers and switches.
Oversee the helpdesk and day-to-day tasks and issues.
Be meticulous in overseeing cataloging, organizing, and managing IT inventory.
Have strong networking knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot an array of networking issues.
Have experience with backup systems including tapes, and knowledge of backup types and schedules.
Possess the ability to rapidly understand and work with a variety of IT and OT systems and technologies.
Love technology and be self-motivated to continuously learn and implement new tools and systems.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 50% helpdesk duties, 50% system engineer.
Oversee the creation of IT purchase orders, receiving and cataloging parts and equipment.
Lead the adoption of cloud services as appropriate for the organization.
Patch Windows desktops and servers.
Assist in managing on-prem and Entra cloud solutions.
Monitor health and success of infrastructure, backup and cloud services.
Install and/or replace IT equipment like desktops, switches, VOIP phones, UPS, SoC devices.
Configure and deploy mobile phones and tablets as per company policy.
Research new technologies and make recommendations to improve IT and business operations.
Provide support via ticketing system and document progress.
Monitor IT emails and Teams for critical or time-sensitive issues and resolve or delegate as needed.
Be hyper-focused on cybersecurity related to best practices, least privilege, policy improvements, and frameworks.
Identify and implement improvements to the overall health of IT systems, update configurations and policies, and proactively monitor infrastructure to prevent issues before they occur.
Leverage AI, automation tools, and scripting to provide the IT department with improved operational efficiency.
This position includes after-hours work and support.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
Outstanding skills in organizing and managing inventory storage.
Time-management skills with the ability to multitask and keep track of numerous responsibilities.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability.
Experience with Linux command line and basic knowledge of the Linux filesystem, permissions, systems.
Experience with Windows server operating systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, Entra ID, and the full Microsoft 365 suite.
High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
High-school degree or GED equivalent.
Networking knowledge in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
Good customer service skills to work with users at all levels of the organization.
Ability to self-start and work independently on time-sensitive projects with little direct supervision.
Preferred Additional
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Experience with a type 1 hypervisor.
IT Courses or Certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco etc.)
