ITI Program-Level Software Systems Engineer (Integrated Fires Mission Command)

Position Description: This is a Software System Engineer position supporting the IFMC AMD Mission Command Product Office, a government program office addressing Army Air and Missile Defense systems, with focus on Mission Command systems. The candidate in this role will work with both contractors, government civilians and system operators.
Tasks include developing system level features with focus on THAAD integration with the Army Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) in describing MEI and CSCI behavior, performance, and acceptance criteria necessary to provide guidance for software implementation. Tasks also include leading reviews and adjudicating comments made against the features. An MBSE approach is used to document the features using an Agile workflow.
Basic Qualifications:
The candidate must be a US and a of the Huntsville, AL area or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area. A bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related field is required. Candidate should have 7 or more years of system engineering experience.
The candidate must have experience in one or more of the following areas: THAAD system, IBCS system, tactical command and control systems, tactical weapons systems, tactical sensor systems, software, hardware, requirements decomposition, or MBSE tools and .
Candidate needs to have a record of taking initiative and being a team player in a small team environment. The candidate must be comfortable working as a team member in an Agile environment and be willing to engage various levels of stakeholders to ensure that software is capable of meeting the needs of the intended users. The system engineer must be highly organized with a strong technical background in system engineering principles.
Other Qualifications: System engineering experience in support of DoD programs is highly desired, especially in an Army Air and Missile Defense program. Hands on experience creating models in Cameo or MagicDraw using SysML and UAF are desired. Experience using Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence and SAFe© Agile experience are plus.
Security Requirements: Candidate must be able to acquire or possess (as well as maintain) a US Secret security clearance.
