ROLE DESCRIPTION We're adding a skilled Java Back End Engineer to the team. This role is focused on designing and maintaining robust, scalable batch processing systems using Java (11/17), Spring Batch, and Spring Boot. The ideal candidate will integrate RESTful APIs, work closely with front-end teams, and ensure reliable system operations through effective incident management and automation using tools like Control M. Hands-on experience with Oracle databases, strong cloud development skills (preferably Azure), and a solid grasp of distributed systems and IT asset lifecycle management are essential to succeed in this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES Design, implement, and maintain batch platforms using Java, ensuring high performance and scalability. Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate RESTful APIs, ensuring seamless communication between services. Manage incidents and changes effectively, adhering to best practices to minimize downtime and enhance system reliability. Utilize workflow and scheduling tools, such as Control M, to automate and optimize batch processing tasks. Work with Oracle databases, writing efficient SQL queries and performing data analysis to support application functionality.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS 9+ yrs experience with Java 11/17, including a solid understanding of Spring Batch and Spring Boot frameworks. Demonstrated experience in developing and managing distributed systems, with a focus on batch processing. Strong understanding of REST concepts and hands-on experience in integrating with REST APIs. Proven experience in developing applications on cloud platforms, preferably Azure. Familiarity with IT software and hardware asset management, including lifecycle management based on established processes and policies.
