The Backend Software Engineer will work cross-functionally to enhance AI-native workflows and contribute to the development of EvenUp's document generation products, directly impacting the success of personal injury claims.Responsibilities:Enhancing the capabilities of EvenUp’s AI-native and expert-review workflowsImplementing and integrating LLM-based solutions that immediately improve outcomes for our customersDeveloping systems to evaluate the efficacy and quality of key customer deliverablesContributing to the evolution of EvenUp’s document generation products at the forefront of AI technologyProduct Development for AI-Native Workflows: Contribute to end-to-end AI workflows by integrating traditional SaaS with AI applications, rapidly prototyping features for customer needs, balancing innovation with pragmatismCross-functional Work: Collaborate with founders, product managers, and designers to brainstorm, scope, and realize new featuresArchitecture & Engineering Excellence: Establish best practices for architecture, coding, and delivery; lead and build user-facing experiences, services, APIs, and systemsCode Quality & Security: Deliver secure, compliant code for sensitive data; ensure quality through testing and reviews; monitor, debug, and optimize performanceMentorship & Team Growth: Mentor team members; contribute to team culture and continuous improvementOperational Responsibilities: Handle on-call issues; document processes for alignment with standardsQualifications:Required:Extensive experience in building frameworks, libraries, and distributed systems with reliability, observability, and performance in mindProficiency in Python or other languages like Go, Java, Node.js, or C++Ability to craft and deliver high-quality software solutions, including production-ready code, RESTful APIs, and managing infrastructureExperience delivering complex projects from concept to deploymentExperience working in dynamic, fast-paced environments such as startupsExcellent communication skills for effective collaborationStrong ownership, problem-solving, creativity, and initiativePreferred:Experience in AI, legal tech, or social impact projectsCompany:EvenUp is a leading AI platform for personal injury law, founded in 2019, headquartered in San Francisco, with 201-500 employees.
