Join our Multi-Domain Solutions (MDS) division as a Junior Electrical Systems Engineer, where you will play a key role in projects focused on the generation, transmission, distribution, and use of electrical power for mission-critical operations across government, commercial, and institutional facilities. With the guidance of senior engineers, you will contribute to significant initiatives that demand your expertise.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist in the design and layout of medium- and low-voltage electrical power distribution systems.
Conduct detailed electrical system studies, including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and grounding analyses using software tools such as ETAP, SKM Power Tools, CYME, or PSCAD.
Help create single-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, and technical specifications for electrical equipment.
Participate in field inspections, equipment testing, and commissioning activities to ensure compliance with design standards and performance verification.
Evaluate electrical components' performance and selection, including transformers, switchgear, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and protective relays.
Support projects involving SCADA systems, substation design, and renewable energy integration.
Ensure adherence to relevant codes and standards, including NEC, IEEE, and NESC.
Utilize AutoCAD or Revit MEP to prepare and modify design drawings.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project timelines and objectives.
Basic Qualifications:
TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 1+ years of experience OR a Master's degree with less than two years of experience.
Working knowledge of engineering standards, theories, and techniques relevant to electrical and electronic systems.
Experienced in circuit design, testing, and troubleshooting for both analog and digital systems.
Familiarity with tools and techniques for electrical system development, including hardware and electronic designs.
Ability to work independently and tackle moderately complex tasks, while contributing to larger projects.
Effective communicator of technical concepts to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Understanding of control/test equipment and electrical systems in areas such as communications, radar, and computing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience in Analog Design, Digital Signal Processing (DSP), Electrical Construction, Electronic Design, and Hardware Design.
Involvement in power generation, transmission, or distribution projects.
Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) circuit design and testing for wireless communication systems.
Knowledge of VHDL for designing and simulating digital electronic systems.
Python programming skills for test automation, data analysis, or embedded applications.
Strong problem-solving skills for analyzing and resolving complex technical issues.
Experience with product development from concept through implementation.
Project management experience, with the ability to coordinate multiple technical tasks across teams.

Pay Range: $55,250.00 - $99,875.00
