Our e-commerce solution is embedded in millions of carts each month, and we're seeking a talented Junior QA Engineer to join our high-performing team.
We seek a Junior QA Engineer who will effectively fit into an existing team and contribute to project success. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the quality of our technology stack. As a key member of our quality team, you will learn to define and oversee rigorous testing processes under the guidance of senior QA members. Key Responsibilities:
Ownership of core manual testing tasks, including writing and executing basic manual test cases on JIRA tickets, performing manual regression testing on release candidates, and documenting test results
Collaborate with Senior QA Engineers or product owners to create and update test cases in TestRail for new features and releases. Learn to align test plans with user stories and business requirements
Leverage AI-assisted tools to generate comprehensive manual test plans, particularly for complex user flows, based on JIRA ticket descriptions and overall project/feature documentation
Assist with exploratory testing on new and existing features, especially regarding partner site testing
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and DevOps, to understand the software, identify bugs, and ensure that fixes are implemented correctly
Communicate test results and findings to stakeholders, providing feedback and ensuring alignment on project quality standards
Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint ceremonies, and QA syncs, providing regular updates on testing progress and issues
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent work experience
Ability to think logically and determine test cases from a project description
Ability to learn and apply new testing methodologies and tools
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
Basic understanding and ability to write code in TypeScript
You don’t need formal QA experience, but you must be technically curious, eager to learn, and excited to grow
This is a remote position. Travel to Protecht Hubs in Phoenix, San Francisco, Denver, Los Angeles, Austin, or Chicago may be required as necessary
Bonus Skills:
Familiarity with manual testing tools and bug tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, TestRail)
Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
Experience developing with Python, JS, etc
Enthusiasm for learning test automation concepts and frameworks (e.g., Playwright)
Interest in experimenting with AI tools for test planning and productivity
