Crestron’s firmware team is looking for a talented and self-motivated engineer with strong embedded system knowledge and firmware development experience who can apply his/her expertise in embedded system's firmware design, development, and support for our next generation video streaming systems. As a member of the firmware development team, your daily activities will include the full life-cycle of design, develop, modify, test, debug, and support the new as well as the existing firmware for all our streaming products.
Primary Responsibilities:
Acts as a development/programming resource on the development team.
Analyzes product requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
Works with the team to create good modular/component-based architecture with clear communication paths.
Works with the team to establish and meet aggressive project commitments and timeline deliverables

Process
Enforces adherence to Crestron’s development and project management processes
Continually looks for and recommends ways of improving design and development processes to optimize for delivery timelines and producing higher quality products
Continuously looks for root cause of bugs and takes corrective action
Product/Technology
Workswith Technology Management teams to define new products and ensure engineering feasibility
Work with technical support to resolve problems in the field with existing products.
Mentors and directs activities of the engineering team in the design, development, testing and ongoing maintenance of the products using industry best practices.
Keeps self and team up to date with latest technologies and trends
Ensures Code Reviews of software deliverables
Special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related engineering field is required
A minimum of 10 years of proven experience developing and debugging applications in a Linux/Android based embedded system
Experience with Embedded Linux U-boot/kernel development and customization including HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) and security functionality (such as secure boot, SE Linux, hardware keystore, etc.)
Experience with Google’s AOSP architecture framework, Android HAL layer, debugging issues within Android Framework and Generic System Image framework.
Understanding of ARM trusted firmware and development of TrustZone applications.
Proficiency in multi-threaded programming, thread synchronization, resource management, as well as inter process communications methods.
Must have strong C and C++ programming skills.
Experience with QTEE and Qualcomm’s trustzone BSP (TZBSP)
Experience with OP-TEE, Trusty TEE and similar custom trusted execution frameworks.
Strong understanding of network security protocols and algorithms (TLS, SSL, open SSL, encryption, PKI and X.509 certificates)
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills detail and be able to work in a team
Must be persistent, possess strong problem-solving skills, and be willing to work with others to find solutions that avoid project stalls
Must be responsible, self-motivated, creative, have a solid work ethic and have a desire to produce a quality product
Must have the ability to work in a fast-moving environment
Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Per applicable state requirements, the annual pay range for this position ($122,500 - $198,500) which consists of base salary (subject to performance), reflects the hiring range for candidates. Also note, an individual’s offer may vary from this range as it may be impacted by additional factors, including but not limited to the candidate's hiring location, qualifications, experience, and market factors.
