ARX is seeking a dynamic Lead Geo-Structural Engineer to join our team in Washington D.C., Pittsburgh or Louisville and drive impactful projects across North America. Duties & Responsibilities Perform professional geotechnical engineering work including design for tunneling projects, subsurface investigations, soil foundation engineering, settlement analysis, soil erosion, lateral earth pressures, geological hazards, underground water, slope stability, and operations to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, construction, or operating permits for commercial, industrial, building, environmental, infrastructure, and transportation projects Managing tasks and mentoring junior staff geotechnical design and reporting. Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates; preparing construction safety and phasing plans, and updating infrastructure layout plans that require coordination with owners, other disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients Support geotechnical investigation programs including planning, permitting, implementation, data reporting, and writing interpretative reports. Work as integral member of a team on complex and multi-discipline projects.
Requirements MS in Geotechnical/Civil or Geological Engineering. Professional or Geotechnical Engineer license required. 8+ years of relevant post education experience in engineering and geotechnical design. Strong analytical and technical communication skills Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment Willingness to travel for short-term field assignments. Good writing and communications skills and ability to interface effectively with other team members and clients. Must be authorized to work in the United States.
