Overview: The Lead Mechanic is responsible for more complex mechanical repairs. This position acts as a coach/mentor to other mechanics.
Responsibilities: Perform service, repairs, and modification to company vehicles and related equipment
Assist journeyman and apprentice level mechanics as required
Assists with the apprentice-training program by assisting, teaching, and supporting apprentice mechanics
Follow United Site Services safety rules: utilizes protective clothing and equipment, reports safety hazards and incidents to the manager
Attend safety meetings twice a month
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications: A valid class A driver license.
Mechanical and electrical repair skills.
Ability to multi-task and work independently while being safety conscious.
Operate a forklift.
Ability to supervise others and follow directions.
Possess strong organizational skills.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence and memos.
Ability to write correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees.
Ability to perform basic math calculations (multiply, divide, average).
Ability to interpret graphs of various forms.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a few variables in standardize situations.
Ability to interpret and carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Requirements: Sit while operating equipment (such as a forklift) and stand while servicing products
Use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects tools or controls
Repeat the same movements
See details of objects that are less than a few feet away and also at greater distance
Speak clearly so customers can understand
Understand the speech of another person
Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them
Be able to walk up to 30 minutes at a time without exertion
Enter and exit equipment by stepping and kneeling
Lift up to 40lbs from your waist to your shoulders
Lift 30lbs from the floor to your head
Crouch and squat
Push 150lbs and pull 150lbs horizontally

Within the posted salary range, individual pay is determined by the geographic location, job related skills, experience, education, and certifications. Our total compensation package includes base pay plus a comprehensive benefits program.
