Overview: The Lead Mechanic is responsible for more complex mechanical repairs. This position acts as a coach/mentor to other mechanics. Responsibilities: Perform service, repairs, and modification to company vehicles and related equipment Assist journeyman and apprentice level mechanics as required Assists with the apprentice-training program by assisting, teaching, and supporting apprentice mechanics Follow United Site Services safety rules: utilizes protective clothing and equipment, reports safety hazards and incidents to the manager Attend safety meetings twice a month Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: A valid class A driver license. Mechanical and electrical repair skills. Ability to multi-task and work independently while being safety conscious. Operate a forklift. Ability to supervise others and follow directions. Possess strong organizational skills. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees. Ability to perform basic math calculations (multiply, divide, average). Ability to interpret graphs of various forms. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a few variables in standardize situations. Ability to interpret and carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
