Our client in Dallas, Texas has an immediate need for a Lead Plant Engineer on a direct hire basis.

Lead Plant Engineer Role:
Oversee all mechanical operations and maintenance to maximize system reliability and lifespan.
Perform and coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance for HVAC equipment (chillers, boilers, pumps) and control systems (DDC).
Maintain plumbing, electrical, and lighting systems, including troubleshooting, repairs, and retrofits.
Monitor and manage fire safety systems, sprinkler systems, fire panels, and pumps.
Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Software) to track equipment and maintenance records.
Respond promptly to tenant work orders and preventive maintenance tasks.
Inspect and manage work performed by contractors, ensuring compliance with building codes and safety standards.
Maintain adequate inventory of essential supplies and tools.
Regularly inspect building grounds and interiors to ensure a safe and well-maintained environment.
Support the engineering team by assisting with daily tasks, inspections, and special projects.
Participate in ongoing technical and safety training.
Create and close work orders and preventive maintenance tasks on schedule.
Support other engineers with routine operations.
Complete monthly building inspections and routine floor walks.
Supervise contractors working on-site on behalf of the building or its tenants.
Be available for emergency responses, occasional extended hours, and weekend work as needed.
Lead Plant Engineer Background Profile:
Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in building operations, maintenance, and repair.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire life safety, structural, and building automation systems.
Solid understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS).
HVAC technical training and EPA refrigeration certification preferred.
Strong grasp of safety regulations and emergency procedures.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain reliable attendance.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and basic proficiency with smartphones, email, and computers.
Physically able to lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Comfortable walking long distances, climbing ladders, working at heights up to 40 feet, and performing inspections in confined areas.
