You will be responsible for creating the core models that allow their agents to interpret complex 3D geometry, understand physical structures, and make intelligent engineering decisions. The role As a Machine Learning Engineer focused on perception, you will: Design and build the core perception models that extract structure, semantics, and key features from 3D data (CAD, meshes, point clouds). Create novel geometric representations and embeddings that AI agents can use for reasoning about physics and design constraints. Engineer multimodal pipelines that fuse 3D data with other inputs (e.g., text from language models) to provide rich context to the agents. Own the end-to-end ML lifecycle, from curating unique engineering datasets to deploying scalable models. Collaborate closely with agent, frontend, and infrastructure teams to integrate your perception systems into the core product. Research and implement state-of-the-art techniques in geometric deep learning, 3D transformers, and diffusion models. The essential requirements Professional experience in 3D perception or scene understanding, ideally from domains like robotics, autonomous vehicles, or AR/VR. Strong ML engineering skills with proficiency in Python and PyTorch (or a similar deep learning framework). Deep familiarity with 3D data formats (e.g., meshes, point clouds, SDFs, CAD files). Knowledge of neural network architectures for geometric data (e.g., PointNet++, 3D CNNs, GNNs, NeRFs). Proven experience building and deploying ML models from data curation to production inference. A proactive and adaptable mindset, comfortable shipping solutions in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment. What will make you stand out An academic or professional background in mechanical, aerospace, or robotics engineering. Experience integrating perception models with Large Language Models (LLMs), planners, or task agents. Prior work with engineering simulation data (e.g., CFD, FEA) or CAD software.
