Maintenance Engineer

Pay: $35/hr - $40/hr
Contract: 12 months, extensions likely, conversion possible
Type: W-2, cannot support C2C or provide visa sponsorship
Location: Elkhorn, NE
Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond and assists in recovery and repair of utilities and production equipment.
- Troubleshoot failed electrical, mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic components utilizing basic and advanced problem-solving techniques, will require knowledge of various levels of test equipment up to and including predictive maintenance tools.
- Complete assigned preventative maintenance actions utilizing developed standards as prescribed by OEM and engineering specifications, includes minor and major overhauls, calibration, detailed inspections, and basic cleaning and lubricating.
- Complete basic and advanced corrective action repairs supporting safety, quality, and equipment reliability.
- Perform tolerance specific fabrication tasks utilizing shop equipment such as mills, lathes, drill press, and welding methods
- Ability to utilize computerized maintenance management software such as SAP to review assigned work, generate work requirements, and document detail work completion.
- Support training of autonomous maintenance work groups (equipment operators) in the areas of principles of operation, basic equipment inspection, and routine maintenance activities.
- Participate in basic and advanced problem-solving initiatives intended to support site continual improvement, knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance and or Lean initiatives are desired.
- Able to work in a team environment where honest communication, a positive attitude, engagement, and personal accountability is expected.
Education Minimum Requirement:
- High School Diploma with a minimum of 7 years' experience in a manufacturing environment OR
- Associates degree with a minimum of 4 years' experience in a manufacturing environment OR
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
Nice to have-certifications
- OSHA 10, OSHA 30, NFPA 70E certification
- ARCH FLASH TRAINING
- 3RD GRADE BOILER
Required Skills:
- Strong Electrical and Mechanical Troubleshooting Skills (Hydraulic, pneumatic, AC/DC circuits, and mechanical drive systems)
- PLC Knowledge and Troubleshooting (Including hardwire logic and programmable control systems)
- Preventive and Corrective Maintenance Expertise
- Knowledge of Industrial Electrical Standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA 70, NFPA 70E)
- Use of Diagnostic Tools (Multimeter, megger, predictive maintenance equipment)
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Ability to Read and Interpret Blueprints and Schematics
- Understanding of Motors, Drives, and Sensors
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Fabrication Skills (e.g., mills, lathes, welding, drill press)
- TPM/Lean Manufacturing Knowledge
- Teamwork and Communication Skills
- Autonomous and Self-Directed Work Ethic
- Commitment to Safety Practices (e.g., Lockout/Tagout, Arc Flash awareness)
