Summary
The Maintenance Spare Parts Management Engineer is responsible for the effective planning, procurement, inventory control, and usage tracking of spare parts used in production and facility equipment maintenance. The role supports continuous production by ensuring critical parts are available when needed, while optimizing inventory levels and costs.
Responsibilities:

Spare Parts Management
- Identify, catalog, and maintain records of all critical and non-critical spare parts.
- Monitor inventory levels and usage trends to ensure timely reordering and prevent stockouts or overstock.
- Ensure proper storage conditions and labeling of all parts.
Procurement and Coordination
- Collaborate with purchasing to procure parts based on demand forecasts and urgent maintenance needs.
- Source alternative or cost-effective parts while ensuring quality and compatibility.
- Coordinate with vendors for lead times, delivery schedules, and warranty issues.
CMMS / ERP System Usage
- Maintain accurate spare parts data in CMMS or ERP systems.
- Link parts with equipment and maintenance tasks to improve traceability.
- Generate reports on consumption, cost, and availability.
Technical Support
- Work closely with maintenance technicians and engineers to identify part needs and specifications.
- Assist in establishing critical spares lists for new or modified equipment..
- Participate in root cause analysis and provide input on spare parts related failures.
Continuous Improvement
- Analyze spare parts usage to reduce waste and improve inventory turnover.
- Standardize parts across similar equipment where possible.
- Support audits and implement best practices for parts management.

Basic Qualifications (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
- One or more years of experience with industrial maintenance
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical components used in industrial equipment.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, maintenance, and procurement.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Automotive manufacturing experience
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing and spare parts optimization strategies.
- Familiarity with ISO or IATF quality management systems.
- Experience with SAP
