Strong knowledge of tool design and fabrication methods. Other necessary manufacturing engineer skills include project management ability, commitment to quality, and familiarity with safety and environmental standards.Objectives:* Ensure all Environmental & Safety policies are followed.* Identifying and implementing continuous improvement plans* Solving problems to the root to prevent a recurrence* Effectively communicating with others within and outside the work group* Develop work instructions and visual aids to improve quality.* Improve manufacturing capabilities through automation.* Assist with Capital Equipment research, procurement, and implementation.Essential Duties:* Implement cost reduction/Improvement method.* Review Sheet Metal drawings, routers and BOM’s for accuracy.* Provide leadership on key issues facing the organization, working collectively with support managers, and understanding all aspects of the business.* Interact with internal cross-business teams to maintain and meet organizational goals and objectives, including engineering, quality, maintenance, production control, HR, finance, and safety.* Support deployment of manufacturing operations strategy, control systems, tools, and metrics to accurately measure progress, identify root causes of processes, production capacity, quality and staffing issues and develop/implement corrective action plans.* Design and improve fixtures.* Assist with and develop plant layout and flow.* Assist with new product development.* Assist with Certifications and testing for various agencies.Education & Experience:* BS/BS in an engineering or manufacturing related discipline.* AS in Engineering related field with at least 5 years’ manufacturing experience* Experience and exposure to Lean, 5S and ISO are required.* Experience with developing and implementing automation.Software & Equipment:* Strong skills with MS Word, MS Excel, and previous MRP/ERP experience.
