Carolina Precision Technologies (CPT) is a premier, full-service precision manufacturer for the medical and aerospace industries. We are a market-leading manufacturer of implants, specialty surgical instruments, cutting tools, and delivery systems for orthopedic, sports medicine, trauma, extremities, and other MedSurg applications. Our Warminster, PA location is currently seeking an experienced Manufacturing Process Engineer. We are looking for an individual who will be responsible for reviewing technical requirements of quotes, orders, processing mechanical & machinery applications. Under the guidance of senior management, will develop process, fixtures and tooling. Plans, designs, and coordinates integration of machinery and equipment into precision manufacturing processes.
This position is onsite at our facility and does not offer relocation assistance.
Responsibilities and Duties
Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with tooling vendors; soliciting observations from operators
Prepares detailed manufacturing plans, blueprints, routers, inspection criteria, and work instructions
Reviews detailed cad drawings of processes with step-by-step manufacturing plans, develops work instructions, routers and BOM. under the guidance of senior engineers
Develops general tool lists and drawings with material boundaries and datums
Develops outside processes and works with vendors
Details and reviews all customer specifications, blueprints and passes them down to operations and sub-contractors
Under the guidance of senior management will provide detailed documentation of a job including tool and fixture drawings, definition of setup, and operational procedures
Confers with establishment personnel to implement operating procedures and resolve process and system malfunctions
May work on MRB and CAPA team to resolve problems and follow up to ensure processes are robust and error free
Develops models of alternate processing methods to test feasibility of new applications of system components, and recommends implementation of improved procedures
Participates in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay apprised of new developments in field
Confers with workers in other departments, such as production, quality and engineering, to provide technical information
Skills and Qualifications
Ability to read drawings or blueprints with standard dimensioning and tolerancing, title blocks
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Show detailed knowledge of Solid Works software to do detailed process prints, and solids for usage in CAM programming and CMM programming
Expert knowledge of GDT on a functional level and be able to research and apply the technical requirement and apply all datum and controlling features for manufacturing processes
Strong knowledge of Trigonometry and calculations of arcs, angles and necessary calculations
