JOB SUMMARY: *relocation support can be provided* As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will work closely with our engineering and operations teams to implement Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles. Your mission: make it easier and more intuitive for our operations team to integrate complex systems based on customer-approved drawings. This is achieved by analyzing design, and implementing improvements to production processes, focusing on safety, scalability, and compliance with industry standards. This position requires the employee to perform a wide variety of duties including, but not limited to, the following:
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with design engineers and operations to ensure manufacturability of custom modular solutions Review drawings to assess ease of manufacturing and assembly Translate engineering project drawings into clear, operator-friendly work instructions Identify and implement process improvements to reduce labor intensity and increase efficiency Develop tooling, fixtures, and visual aids to support integration workflows Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies Support the integration of digital tools (CAD, ERP, MES) into the manufacturing process Evaluate and integrate new technologies or automation to streamline workflows. Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Provide technical guidance and training to operators and team members to enhance process understanding.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field) 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or integration environment Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor) and ERP/MRP systems Strong understanding of DFM/DFA principles (Design for Manufacturing/Design for Assembly) Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma is a plus Self-motivated and works well with or without supervision. Good organizational skills and a methodical approach to work. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Detailed oriented, able to read and interpret drawings, BOMs, options, shop details, etc. Must have a good attendance record and have a strong sense of personal responsibility. Personal computer skills required. Ability to work safely. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, and heights. When participating in activities on the shop floor, the noise level in the work environment is typical for a fabrication shop and ear plugs may be used as necessary.
