Title: Manufacturing Engineer Location: Kenosha, WI Hire Type: Direct Hire Benefits: Full medical, dental, vision, 401k Salary: $70k MUST HAVE: 2+ years of experience Job Summary: We’re seeking a Manufacturing Engineer or Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the development and optimization of efficient, cost-effective production processes. In this role, you’ll improve workflows, implement automation, and support the launch of new products and equipment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting operations, enhancing process documentation, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing systems. Ideal for someone who thrives in hands-on environments and enjoys solving complex production challenges. Job Duties: Manufacturing Process Development Design and improve manufacturing methods and layouts using 2D/3D CAD tools. Plan workforce, space, and material flow for optimal efficiency. Collaborate on product design for manufacturability and tooling. Design production and test fixtures for accuracy and material control. Source and evaluate materials, equipment, and vendors. Estimate production time, labor, and cost for planning. Lead implementation of equipment and process changes. Apply statistical methods for production forecasting and planning. Manufacturing Operations Manage tooling and equipment setup for production runs. Ensure component conformance to specifications. Review and optimize inventory and ordering strategies. Troubleshoot production line and equipment issues. Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair. Maintain process documentation (SOPs, flow charts, BOMs, etc.). Control product revisions and update documentation accordingly. Continuous Improvement Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies. Implement process improvements to reduce cost and increase output. Evaluate and refine quality control processes. Standardize designs and manufacturing methods. Apply lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools. Track improvement metrics and support change implementation.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering, or a related technical field; Master’s degree preferred. 3–5+ years of relevant engineering experience, with a focus on manufacturing or assembly processes. 1–3 years of hands-on experience in production environments, including process optimization and equipment troubleshooting. Familiarity with the design, operation, and maintenance of complex manufacturing machinery. Demonstrated success implementing lean practices such as kanban, pull systems, and line balancing. Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in project management software tools. Strong hands-on involvement with production processes, with the ability to identify issues, anticipate risks, and implement timely countermeasures.
