This role will focus on: Being our Manufacturing Engineer (Assembly), you are an important part of our multifunctioning WM, America Manufacturing Inc. team. You will be driving the development of our assembly processes in pumps and single use assemblies to meet the future demands of our customers and enable the achievement of Excellence in Manufacturing. Your focus will therefore be to execute on performance improvements which will support volume growth and improve KPIs critical to the manufacturing performance for existing and new product assembly cells.
As an integral part of our success in our first operational year of delivering the new facility, you will initially be focused on: Work with the local and global teams to duplicate and standardize the processes and equipment to successfully deliver the quality pump products that meet our customers expectations Work under guidance from the sending sites to procure in the US special purpose machinery and Modified to the shelf (MOTS) equipment as required for new product cells Develop and execute capital requests as needed to support the new facilities' pump manufacturing operation Participate and lead key safety and GEM(Lean) initiatives in the pump manufacturing area including ergonomic assessments, developing standard work etc. Implement good process controls for successful pump production operation that will minimize rework, scrap and other wastes What You'll be doing Drive continuous improvement projects using appropriate tools and techniques to optimize productivity of the Pumps and Single Use Assembly processes in collaboration with our global teams. Responsible for the transfer of knowledge and know-how for the transfer of manufacturing of precision pumping technology to a new manufacturing plant by including virtual & on site process reviews of the UK manufacturing facilities. Safe design including ergonomic attributes of the assembly equipment and cells Support NPD teams to ensure that all manufacturing requirements are satisfied in an efficient and capable process. Ensure compliance to regulatory procedures, which includes responsibility for safety and quality within the assembly and wider the WM, America Manufacturing Inc company. Arrange procurement of jigs and fixtures, and manufacture of assembly aids, as well as checking equipment for assembly, ensuring that it is safe and delivers the required performance and quality. Responsible for the site information in the AX (ERP) system such as production routing file information, setting up Kanbans, work orders and other tools. Oversee the specifying and purchasing of tools and gauges. Provide front line fault-finding and diagnostics on assembly equipment and processes. Assist in the reporting and solving of production problems and customer complaints where applicable. Technical leader within your department. Specify and propose in collaboration with the sending sites cost justifications on new processes and equipment for improving productivity. Advise corrective actions to overcome problems, including visiting suppliers as required. Issue and ensure compliance with the ECO (Design Change) system. Oversee the training of assembly team members on machines and processes. Produce and maintain the standard operating procedures, with the appropriate visual aids. This is what you'll need to be successful in this role Financial skills to understand and use business financial data. Comprehensive portfolio of experience within a Manufacturing environment preferably assembly and test utilizing SPC to maintain process consistency. Experience analyzing production assembly and test equipment and processes and documenting modifications. Experience with work flow optimization using lean transformation tools. Experience with Cleanroom manufacturing processes and controls, Class 7 preferred. Familiar with personal computers and competent using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project and Minitab. Experience with 2D & 3D CAD. Proven FMEA, DFMA and RCA experience, Six Sigma Black or Green Belt preferred. Quality tool implementation and analysis. Participating in and leading Continuous Improvement workshops. BS in Engineering discipline or equivalent, Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Preferred. 5-10 years of experience in manufacturing engineeringor equivalent experience Physical Demands
• Mobility: Must be able to sit at a desk for extended periods, with occasional need to stand or move around to maintain health and well-being; and occasionally lift or carry office supplies and equipment up to 10 pounds. • Vision and Hearing: Ability to use a computer and read documents. Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues and clients. • Work Environment: Typical office setting with moderate noise levels and standard office equipment.
