The Manufacturing Quality Engineer will develop, lead, manage, and implement process improvements. They work to solve organizational, production, and service-related problems using the fundamentals of design, lean principles, engineering/quality tools, data analysis and technology.
Responsibilities:-Develop, create, and manage manufacturing process flows including QA check points, process sheets, work instructions, and operational methods sheets (OMS) (assembly + test) for company products.-Develop, create, and manage service process flows, process sheets, rework instructions, and operational methods sheets (OMS) for service, repair, and production management processes.-Perform first part qualification/inspection of incoming materials, identify, and document non-compliant incoming materials and determine their disposition.-Apply Quality Engineering tools such as Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Three Analysis (FTA), Root Cause Analysis, Design of Experiment (DOE) etc., to improve products and/or processes related to incoming material, services, and finished products.-Identify and deploy software tools and systems for monitoring, data collection, and reporting of production and service performance records and data.-Track, analyze, and provide manufacturing and service performance data (, reliability, process capability) to improve processes and monitor and measure progress to target.-Lead/participate in supplier/CM qualifications and engagements to assess technical competency and general compliance to requirements (material specifications, CTQ's, process control plans, quality agreements, etc.).-Establish, maintain, and provide training to production staff.-Maintain compliance with all applicable OSHA and EPA standards.-Coordinate new product releases with engineering team and review, manage and implement Engineering ECOs into production.-Develop Production(P)FMEA from results of Design(D)FMEA. -Measure Run-at-rate, takt time and implement Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (Gauge R&R). -Experience with manufacturing electronics products that conform to IPC-A-610 certification requirements. -Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) for non-conformances identified during audits or inspections.-Develop measures of success, track performance, communicate results, develop action plans to improve.-Lead and coordinate internal ISO 9001 audits, including preparation, execution, findings follow-up, and documentation.-Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the QMS in accordance with ISO 9001 standards-Serve as a key liaison during UL audits and inspections, ensuring product compliance with UL requirements.-Manage vendor quality relationships, including regular reviews, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure supplier alignment with ACT's quality standards and objectives.-Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to proactively address potential quality issues, streamline communication, and facilitate timely resolution of vendor-related manufacturing challenges-All other duties as required.
Skills / Other:-Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 50%.-Ability to communicate information clearly and directly, both verbally and in writing.-Strong project management skills.-Analytical thinker.-Clear communicator. Able to provide training for assembly and service technicians.-Computer proficiency with MS Office Suite.-Working knowledge of the Electrical/Electronics manufacturing industry.-In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards and audit processes.-Experience with UL certification and audits.-Detailed knowledge in manufacturing processes utilizing Electronic Assemblies, PCBA's construction design/manufacturing, and testing of electronic products.
Experience:-5+ Years direct experience with electronic manufacturing.-Experience with quality control and failure analysis.-Experience with PLM, PDM, ECO, and BOM tools and processes.-Experience with statistical tools, including but not limited to, SPC, process capability analysis, DOE, : $90,000 - $115,000/yr
