Job Title : Materials Engineer

Position Description : Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Materials Engineeropportunity.

Job Responsibilities: Compile datasets from literature for basic physical and mechanical properties, complex mechanical phenomena (e.g., creep, fatigue, creep-fatigue, stress corrosion cracking, and fracture), irradiation performance, corrosion, and tribology. Perform Qualification of Existing Data per ASME NQA-1-2015 Develop material property correlations and advanced material performance models as input to computer codes and methods to demonstrate the performance of reactor systems, structures, and components. Plan, execute, and oversee test programs designed to address data gaps Perform quantitative and statistical analysis on test data and generate technical reports to document new knowledge related to reactor design and qualifications Update and maintain a Python-based material database as well as associated design handbooks for the project.

Job Qualifications: Minimum of 4 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or a Master’s degree. A degree in Materials Science/Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline is desired. A solid understanding of metallurgy, including fabrication and thermomechanical processing of ferrous (e.g., ferritic-martensitic steels) and nonferrous (e.g., nickel-base) alloys, is required. A general understanding of the design of a nuclear reactor and subsequent impacts on materials would be considered a pl.us Ability to work with minimal direction to solve challenging problems The actual position starting level and title will be determined based on the assessment of qualifications The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect, and have a desire to foster teamwork

Job Details: Job Type: Contract Location: Bellevue, WA. Pay Rate: $63-80 an hour. Export control regulations require candidates to be a U.S. Citizen, a U.S. Legal Permanent Resident, or a protected person.
