System Integration Engineer Onsite (Colorado Springs, CO Schriever Space Force Base)
An organization is seeking a System Integration Engineer to support the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) program. This is an onsite role in Colorado Springs, CO at Schriever Space Force Base.
The C2BMC program integrates the Missile Defense System and is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders to plan ballistic missile defense operations. It provides a collective operational picture and allows dynamic management of networked sensors and weapons systems. The program also plays a crucial role in system ground and flight tests, verifying and exercising current and future missile defense system capabilities.
The selected candidate will integrate C2BMC software into the C2BMC test suites at the MDIOC, primarily on virtual servers, and develop site- and event-specific configurations to support testing, war games, and exercise scenarios. They will operate and troubleshoot C2BMC systems during test events, collaborate with external National Team personnel to resolve test lab issues, and work closely with Operations, Sustainment, and Level II support staff to address installation and processing problems.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:Create and modify scripts to extract specific information from log files, perform data analysis, and troubleshoot both test and operational issues.
Document test results and prepare test status reports.
Author Spiral and build-level test plans and procedures, and create Test Discrepancy Reports to document issues.
Assist software development personnel with investigating and resolving issues.
Develop troubleshooting procedures and workaround documents.
Develop and execute detailed test plans and procedures to test C2BMC in an integrated environment or evaluate specific capabilities.
Plan and lead integration tests between C2BMC and external elements and sensors.
Review and provide feedback on system specifications, development, testing, and network documents.
Attend meetings with customers and stakeholders and represent the Integration team.
This position is based in Colorado Springs at the MDIOC but may require multi-week travel to customer or contractor sites (e.g., EUCOM, CENTCOM, Huntsville).
Current/active in-scope DoD issued SECRET security clearance.
8 years of related experience with a Bachelors Degree in STEM,
OR 6 years with a Masters degree,
OR 4 years with a PhD,
OR 12 years of related experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.A DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+ CE, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA).
Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% for business needs.
Knowledge or basic skills in Systems Integration and System/Software Testing, including virtualized environments.
Practical experience with LINUX/UNIX and Windows operating systems.
Understanding of the software development process, from requirements through final product deployment.
Current and active in-scope DoD-issued Top Secret clearance.
Knowledge of or hands-on experience with industry or DoD test methodologies and terminology.
Experience with operational systems (e.g., Aegis, Patriot), development systems (e.g., GMD, THAAD, Aegis), and statistical analysis packages.
Experience integrating system components within an integrated test environment.
Working knowledge of system design and integration into operational environments.
High proficiency with VMware, virtual servers, UNIX, including shell scripting.
Detailed understanding of Windows and Unix environments.
Practical knowledge of test plan and procedure preparation, as well as test execution.
