Description This role will be focused on identifying and implementing utility efficiencies across a large campus with a central utility plant. In scope is electrical usage, natural gas usage, and water consumption. As such, a high level of technical expertise is needed in mechanical and/or electrical engineering competencies. Familiarity and expertise with industrial utility systems is desired (ex: chiller plants, cooling towers, industrial air compressors, standby generators, etc).
Special interest in candidates with experience with sustainability/energy reduction initiatives, and carbon footprint reduction efforts.
Primary Function / Primary Goals / Objectives: - Develop a structured decarbonization and energy strategy for a large campus (~50 acres) - Prioritize and execute carbon reduction initiatives - Identify and recommend utility related projects within the central utility plant or campus distribution network that will deliver a return on investment - Develop and deliver presentations to skip-level management clearly and concisely communicating decarbonization / energy reduction projects and strategies - Collaborate and communicate effectively with leadership, peers, and site stakeholders to positively contribute to team culture and effectively execute projects - Demonstrate technical proficiency with major utility systems - Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, site procedures, and GxP compliance.
Level of Expertise: - Significant experience with designing, installing, and/or troubleshooting industrial utility systems. - Able to independently develop and implement energy savings projects - Technically proficient in estimating savings (financial, energy, and/or carbon reductions) - Proficient in reading and developing/updating MEP drawings - Understands implications of impacting regulated spaces - Applies technical writing / communication skills to produce presentations for leadership
Level of Leadership Activities: - Works under direction of senior staff - Summarizes and presents results of projects to project teams and skip-level management - Independently develops and executes energy strategies
Level of Interpersonal Skill: - Works in team environment - Collaborates with others on strategy and project prioritization - Able to present work to small groups and leadership
Education: - Bachelors or Masters Degree or equivalent education in Biomedical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering, or years of experience
What is a nice to have (but not required) skill, experience, education, or certification? Experience with green initiatives ISO 50001 certifications
Experience Level = 5-7 Years

Daily Work Schedule Expectations Monday to Friday 1st shift Occasional off shift requirement/ Candidate must be available to work on weekends occasionally as well.
Is overtime offered or required? With supervisor authorization only
Candidates must be Available to work at weekends and additional hours if needed based in business needs
