Purpose of Role: The Mechanical Engineer will support internal manufacturing (50-75%) and external customer needs (25%-50%) for steel structures/products. This is a fast-paced position requiring technical contribution, and continually improving work standards and engineering processes. Solid mechanical engineering skills and an understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and computer aided engineering will be crucial for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Quoting: Generate manufacturing costs for external/internal customer requests, evaluating material, time and required shop resources
- Manufacturing Setup/Instruction: Develop step-by-step manufacturing instructions, setup parts in Oracle to release for production, and support questions from shop floor on cutting, machining, forming, and welding. Provide templates as needed.
- Modelling/Reverse Engineering: Create or translate detailed designs with computer-aided design (CAD) software from either customer supplied drawings or measurements taken from the field.
- Customer Service: Works with external/internal customers directly for further clarification on details/specs on scope of job awarded.
- Continuous Improvement and Quality: Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement related to process or product design. Support shop quality inspections as requested
- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's (Mechanical Engineering)
- 3-5 years of relative engineering experience
- Ability to operate computer-aided design (CAD) software (NX, Autocad), specifically modelling experience
