Job Summary
: In this role, you will provide project field engineering specialization and expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination. Your recommendations will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. #LI-BH1
Major Responsibilities:
Work Planning & Packaging
Manages planning and packaging of preservation activities based on supplier requirements for equipment.
Works with the procurement team to coordinate access to equipment in warehouses and laydown yards.
Captures preservation requirements for equipment in database and verifies inspections are completed and documented
Procure preservation materials and testing equipment required to verify manufacturer or specification compliance.
Quantities
Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
Safety / Quality Control
Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
Technical
Proactively considers continuous learning or shows interest to pursue appropriate learning activities.
Troubleshoots, and coordinates with multiple disciplines, to resolve equipment deficiencies.
For Direct Hire:
Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.
STR / Subcontract Coordinator
Reviews and approves inspection test plans
Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Experience with rotating and static equipment.
Familiarity with basic testing and preservations requirements for electrical equipment.
Familiarity with control valves.
Familiarity with SmartCompletions is preferred.
Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H).
Demonstrated commitment to a Zero Accident safety program.
Must be computer-literate in word processing, spreadsheet and Bechtel database applications.
Must be familiar with current industry quality standards.
Basic ability to utilize the TeamWorks automation suite as the Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).
Knowledge of Project Technical Requests (PTR) for routing and resolving Requests for Information (RFIs), Field Change Documents (FCDs), and Non Conformance/Compliance Reports (NCRs) between project sites, contractors, clients, and home office.
Sound communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Additional Information:
Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
