VES LLC is seeking a skilled and innovative Mechatronics Engineer to join our interdisciplinary team developing next-generation automated systems and advanced manufacturing solutions in support of the Joint Acquisitions Task Force (JATF). The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating mechanical, electrical, and software systems for specialized electromechanical applications. Ideal candidates will have a strong foundation in mechanical engineering, hands-on prototyping, and control systems, and be enthusiastic about contributing to cutting-edge research and national defense initiatives.

This position is an on-site position located in Tampa, FL at MacDill AFB.

General Job Duties:

  • Design, prototype, and integrate electromechanical systems including robotics, automation platforms, and custom test equipment.
  • Create CAD models and detailed engineering drawings using SolidWorks, NX, or similar platforms.
  • Manage end-to-end system design processes, including FEA, thermal analysis, and systems integration.
  • Apply additive manufacturing techniques for prototyping and production of precision components.
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams including electrical, software, and manufacturing engineers.
  • Conduct failure analysis, system performance evaluations, and reliability testing using various tools and methodologies.
  • Lead or support technical presentations, system documentation, and design reviews.

Desired Requirements:

  • Experience with electromechanical systems design, including motors, sensors, actuators, and control systems.
  • Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping, 3D printing (SLA, SLS, PLA), and CNC machining.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems, high-power electronics, and PCB design.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex engineering projects.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, NX, CATIA) and experience in GD&T.
  • This role may require occasional travel (10%) for project collaboration and system deployment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret government security clearance.
  • Work may involve exposure to secure environments and proprietary technologies.
