/Preferred Qualifications Join the action! As a New Product Introduction (NPI) product development engineer, you will support our division's new product development process. This engineering adventure starts with providing hands-on support during technology feasibility evaluations and continues through the release of new products into production. Along the way, you will partner with the design engineering team to complete product designs and build prototype assemblies. You will be responsible for the creation and release of critical items such as product BOMs, procedures, tooling, and packaging. You will work closely with the manufacturing team to understand and provide what they need to be successful for mass production. Are you ready? Key responsibilities: Build and test electrical and electromechanical assemblies for design validation and assembly procedure development. Propose new insights and improvements, identify and review design requirements, and drive crucial program decisions. Generate and release the product Bill of Material (BOM) and assembly procedures. Drive the development of the alignment/test tooling and packaging that are required to build and ship assemblies from our vendors to our manufacturing facility and the field. Work with design engineers to receive and organize prototype material. Support the field service team by coordinating the assembly, testing and shipment of field-replaceable assemblies. Investigate and resolve issues with new designs and prototypes through assembly, testing, and system integration in a cleanroom environment. Collaborate with manufacturing and field service teams to address critical problems and implement continuous improvement projects (CIPs) to achieve cycle time, cost, and yield targets. Create, review, and submit engineering change orders (ECOs) to release design and process changes to improve manufacturability/serviceability. Use an organized and diligent approach to completing tasks and projects and make data-driven decisions. Key skill requirements: In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with building and testing electromechanical sub-systems, stages, controllers, and motors. Experience with optical-based semiconductor inspection/metrology equipment a plus. Familiarity with 3D CAD software, preferably ProE/CREO a plus. Motivated self-starter who is fast-learning, capable of working independently, and can effectively coordinate with a globally distributed team. Possess solid analytical skills with the ability to adapt and persevere to get results. Communicate clearly and accurately in both written and verbal form Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, mechatronics, mechanical, optical, industrial, or manufacturing) or physics or related technical field, or at least 5 years of demonstrated ability in an NPI role.
