As a member of this team, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of products and software solutions supporting our production, content operations and marketing teams. Job Description We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Media Software Engineer to join our dynamic team and aid our Product & Engineering Leads to implement complex media engineering solutions with guidance from Lead Engineer & Technical Leads. As a Media Software Engineer, your role is primarily focused on enhancement and support of our team’s suite of Internal applications (DDSS Watcher, Dispatch, etc...) as well as 3rd-party video transcoding and review applications (Baton, Vantage, etc...) alongside product and engineering teams to address evolving production and business needs. You will also be responsible for developing and supporting media encoding pipelines. Your expertise in AWS, command line operations (Linux/Windows), and multimedia frameworks like FFmpeg will be essential to succeed in this role. You will also be instrumental in building scalable technology applications & platforms that can be leveraged to create a multitude of software products that will help our teams create and market our products. Responsibilities Design and develop media encoding pipelines to ensure efficient and high-quality media processing. Create and maintain streaming media workflows Utilize AWS services and infrastructure to optimize media processing and delivery workflows. Proficiently operate in both Linux and Windows command line environments. Leverage FFmpeg and other multimedia frameworks to handle media transformation tasks effectively. Work with IMF (Interoperable Master Format) and ProRes formats to meet industry standards and requirements. Work collaboratively with a team of talented software engineers and subject matter experts to design, build, test and deploy software solutions that contribute to various studio workflows across integrated and specialized systems. Troubleshoot production support issues and implement defect fixes. Innovate & collaborate with the Content Security teams to provide Safe, Secure & Reliable applications for the company Familiarity working within an agile scrum process using epics, user stories and tasks, while also being able to prioritize urgent production requests and still deliver planned work on time. Provide transparency with the delays/challenges across the project to Leads Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s in a related field 3+ Years of Industry experience Proficiency in working with AWS services for media processing and distribution. Strong command line skills in both Linux and Windows environments. In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with multimedia frameworks like FFmpeg. Familiarity with IMF (Interoperable Master Format) and ProRes standards Proficient in working with API Gateway, Next JS, Node JS, TypeScript and AWS Serverless technologies (Lambdas, Step Functions, S3) Knowledge of programming languages such as Java and Python for customization and automation purposes. Security experience with SAML, SSO, JWT Ability to be a great team player to support complex technical projects Experience in working with a team to design customized solutions based on evolving business needs Knowledge and experience using source control and CI tools (GitLab/GitHub), Terraform & Agile/Scrum methodologies Preferred Qualifications Extensive experience with post-production technologies in the Entertainment Industry Familiarity with Telestream's Vantage transcoding and Workflow automation platform. Demonstrably outstanding experience with cloud-based deployments of media technologies at scale. Seniority level
