The IT Department at Arapahoe County is centralized, so we are an integral part of a vast array of "businesses", from the Sheriff's Office to Public Works to the Clerk & Recorder's Office. We pride ourselves on being a creative team that understands our customers' businesses.
This is a hands-on position that provides expert technical support and administrative services for the County’s cloud applications with a focus on Microsoft 365 SharePoint and supporting solutions. Provides lead responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, configuration, patching, upgrading and maintenance of the County’s investments in the chosen business applications. Provides advanced administration, design, and support of Microsoft 365 SharePoint and other cloud-based applications and services.
Arapahoe County is building our new Intranet site on the SharePoint platform. We are looking for someone who can properly architect our new SharePoint environment and integrate outside services into the Intranet. This is an opportunity for someone to flex their design and creative skill sets.
Duties Provides advanced administration, design, and support of the Microsoft 365 and other cloud-based applications and services. This includes, but is not limited to, Microsoft 365 Tenant, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and other Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions. This position may also help the broader team support server and other cloud-based services.
This position is part of the success of a broader team that supports a variety of server based and cloud-based applications.
Develops and executes business application roadmaps; assures roadmap alignment with enterprise strategy.
Develops high-level application architecture and solution design that is in line with best practices.
Provides architectural designs for new business application system landscapes and improvements to existing system landscapes.
Ensures that the business software meets business requirements and goals, fulfills user requirements, and identifies and resolves system issues.
Evaluates, installs, configures, and deploys applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise.
Collaborates with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of business software programs and applications.
Ensures that any application integration into County systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
Performs monitoring and troubleshooting, performance tuning and capacity planning of the County’s business application systems; installs and configures patches and upgrades as required.
Maintains and/or executes backup/restore and disaster/recovery procedures.
Periodically reviews and improves design standards to ensure current technological advances are used; improves redundancy and maximizes the uptime of all business application systems.
Provides direction for the application team in support of business application operations.
May develop technical and user instructions and documentation and may provide training on new or changed applications. May provide training on new applications or changes to existing applications for both customers and departmental employees.
Supports current IT Standards.
Continues professional development and education to remain informed of current industry development and technologies.

Requirements Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED. Continued information technology course work desirable.
Five (5) years of experience in providing technical support and working with cloud and business applications.
Any equivalent combination of education and work experience that satisfy the requirements of the job may be considered.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is desirable
Supplemental Information Pre-Employment Additional Requirements:
Pre-employment testing includes an acceptable current motor vehicle check and background check.
Post-Employment Requirements:
Post hire will require fingerprinting, a CBI background check and successfully completing bi-annual Colorado Justice Information System training.
Incumbent may be required at any point in time to be on-call to respond to emergency situations, special events or routine on-call schedule.
Must be able to travel between multiple locations as needed.
Occasional out of town travel may be required.
