NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR
JOB PURPOSE:
The role of the Network Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of networks, systems, hardware, software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Configuring and managing Switches, Routers, Wireless Access Controllers, and other networking.
Support daily network hardware and operating systems operations; this includes evaluation of system use monitoring response time and serving as primary support for detection and correction of operational problems.
Assist in research, design, technical review, and implementation for new network infrastructure hardware and network operating systems for voice and data communication networks.
Troubleshooting or assists other users with troubleshooting the technical problems associated with Servers, Hardware, Network Connectivity, and Data/Voice Latency and performance.
Work after hours as necessary to minimize business interruptions (system outages, troubleshooting, system upgrades, etc.) and provide non-business hour support (both remote and onsite).
Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
Support, configure, and implement LANs, WANs, VPN, network segments, Internet, intranet systems, and other SaaS or cloud-based services.
Provide support, and properly escalate unresolved queries to the next level of support or appropriate vendors.
Assist management in the control, establishment, and enforcement of security for network infrastructure technology, desktops, and end-users.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Advanced knowledge of network administration of local area network, DNS, DHCP, and other Cisco systems.
Working knowledge in Firewalls, IPS, and other security solutions.
Advanced knowledge of tool/sets for management and monitoring of network resources.
Advanced knowledge of configuring and managing VLANs.
Expert in packet capture analysis skills.
Deep understanding of NAT, route maps, routing policies, and IPSEC VPN.
Aptitude and desire to learn new technologies.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a similar field or equivilant certificaitons and experience.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
At least two (2) years of progressively responsible hands-on experience in an IT environment, specifically network administration.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications)
Cisco Meraki Solutions Specialist certification.
Cisco Certified Network Associate certification.
Strong leadership qualities.
