Network Architect/Engineer

Network Architect/Engineer GovCIO is currently hiring for a Network Architect/Engineer to design, configure, and test systems networking. This position will be located in San Antonio, TX and will be a Hybrid position.
Responsibilities Designs and develops network and system architectures, and defines key capabilities and performance requirements. Defines total systems design and technology maturity constraints in accordance with mission requirements. Develops network and system element architecture and design and interface definitions. Defines network and system implementation approach and operational concept. Develops models and architectural guidelines for current and future network and system development. Ensures requirements are met and evaluates performance with customer.
Interfaces with the user(s) and all other stakeholders in order to determine their needs.
Generates the highest level of requirements, based on the user's needs and other constraints such as cost and schedule.
Performs cost-benefit analyses to determine whether requirements are best met by manual, software, or hardware functions; making maximum use of commercial off-the-shelf or already developed components.
Designs and develops solutions to applications problems, system administration issues, or network concerns.
Develops partitioning algorithms (and other processes) to allocate all present and foreseeable requirements into discrete partitions such that a minimum of communications is needed among partitions, and between the user and the system.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.
Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices
Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and outside the organization
Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems
Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources
Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols
A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment
Dependable and flexible when necessary
Qualifications High School with 10+ years (or commensurate experience)
Required Skills and Experience
Clearance Required: Secret
Must be eligible for upgrade to TS/SCI
CCNP Certification or higher required
Experience designing, deploying, and optimizing classified networks
Experience with Cisco & Dell devices and management tools
Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPNs, and QoS
Technical experience with multiple operating systems, such as Windows, Linux, or ESXi
DoD 8140.01 IAT Level II (Sec+CE, SSCP, CND, CCNA Security, etc)
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience with DoD deployed communications
Experience with DoD NIPR, SIPR and JWICS Networks
DoD 8140.01 IASAE II (CASP+CE, CISSP, CSSLP) compliance
Network security experience

Posted Pay Range
The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
Posted Salary Range USD $155,000.00 - USD $175,000.00 /Yr.
