Network Engineer, Lead

The Network Engineer Lead is responsible for serving as a subject matter expert within their associated field (i.e. Voice, Firewalls, Routing, Cloud, etc) and acting as an escalation point for other engineers, as well as a mentor, providing leadership to improve the overall skill set of the team.
Duties and Responsibilities
Engineer, configure, install, maintain, and upgrade customer's network infrastructure, supporting applications and network hardware
Troubleshoot and resolve advanced problems
Perform, train, mentor and/or assist other individuals in the day-to-day activities of the group
Manage team of functional experts. This includes managing queues, handling escalations, providing cross-functional leadership to meet customer objectives
Work with practice leaders to assist with projects in related network field
Select and manage vendors in support of operational objectives
Work with associated practice managers to ensure customer objectives are met
Document and craft remediation documents and procedural guides
Design and engineer solutions to meet customer needs
Interact with customers and perform customer training
Guide troubleshooting over the telephone, electronically, and/or in person
Handle escalations with vendors and other third parties
Perform data center operations and hands-on data center infrastructure maintenance
Provide customer and field replaceable unit component swapping or remote hands support
Understand and abide by all security and operational polices
Participate in on-call support rotation, with ability to carry and respond to a mobile device
Focus on continuous improvement
Develop cross-functional relationships. Focus on helping other people and departments be successful

Education Bachelor's degree in Technology or related field from an accredited college or university
In lieu of undergraduate degree, the ratio is 1:1 - meaning one year of college equals one year of work experience and vice versa
ITIL, CCNA (R&S, Security, Collaboration Fortinet) Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
Experience Customarily has at least 10 years technical experience
Customarily has at least 8 years network engineer experience
Customarily has at least 8 years of customer facing project management and client engagement experience
Customarily has at least 8 years mentorship experience
Customarily has at least 3 years technical leadership experience
Experience with Cisco ASR9000, ASR920, Nexus 9000, 7000, 5000 and 2000 platforms, preferred
Advanced experience with firewall security, access control list (ACL) management and secure remote management practices, preferred
Experience acting as a consultative IT expert combining both hands-on support and IT leadership/architect capabilities to provide technology direction, preferred
Network Technology SME experience, a plus
