Network Engineer Onsite (Camp Pendleton, CA)
Contingent Position Active Secret Security Clearance Required
An organization is seeking a Network Engineer to provide support for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems. This role supports a government contract providing Data Management and Cybersecurity services in support of Testing, Engineering, Integration, and Sustainment of Marine Corps C5ISR Programs of Record.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:Plan for new initiatives and expand the existing network infrastructure.
Modernize network architecture in a secure manner to handle diversity and emerging requirements.
Provide solutions for issues such as traffic congestion, infrastructure upgrades, and routine troubleshooting.
Develop documentation and how-to guides on networks integrating C5ISR systems.
Deploy, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot network hardware or virtual network infrastructure (e.g., routers, switches, network monitoring devices) typically used by the Fleet Marine Force.
Integrate multiple network transport systems to support wide-area network connectivity (e.g., satellite, radio frequency, troposcatter, tactical landlines like fiber optic cabling).
Document solutions, diagrams, and blueprints for network-related issues and innovative solutions for fielded and future programs.
Install required hardware/software, create system backups, and monitor system performance.
Deploy, configure, maintain, update, and troubleshoot virtual infrastructure environments and network administrator workstations.
Manage, configure, and troubleshoot network services (e.g., Domain Controllers, DNS, Mail/Exchange).
Design, deploy, and maintain Wi-Fi networks and other wireless technologies in support of tactical deployments.
Provide expertise on Software-Defined Networks (SDN), including SD-WAN, wireless networking, NAC, segmentation, and secure campus solutions for distributed operations.
Perform cybersecurity hardening and security monitoring on network infrastructures (STIGs, patching, ACAS scanning, etc.).
Manage and maintain security-related configurations within the network according to operational requirements.
Advanced network training and 4+ years of demonstrated network engineering experience.
CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD IAT Level 2 security certification.
Experience with TCP/IP analysis and troubleshooting using a packet analyzer.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
Experience with system administration on MS Windows or Linux.
Experience with VMware Virtualization technologies.
Wireshark Certified Network Analyst or RCPE Professional Packet Analyzer Plus.
Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Design Professional (Route/Switch).
VMware Certified Associate or Specialty Certification.
Certification in a Network Operating System (e.g., MS Windows Server, Linux).
SolarWinds Server and Application Monitor (SAM) Certified Professional.
Experience or training with scripting languages (e.g., Perl, PowerShell, Linux Shell).
Experience with DoD tactical Wide Area Networks (WAN) using tactical RF and Satellite systems.
Experience with instrumentation, data collection, and management of In-Band/Out-of-Band networks.
Experience designing and implementing Modeling and Simulation test tools.
