Our client is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to backfill a critical role on our team. The ideal candidate will bring at least 3 years of hands-on experience with Cisco Routing and Switching, and a strong passion for networking technologies.
Role Overview:
Focused primarily on Advanced Network Support and Integration
Approximately 15% network design responsibilities
Heavy emphasis on operational tasks and troubleshooting
Working with Cisco routers, switches, and voice systems (Cisco Webex and Cisco Call Manager)

PURPOSE: Reporting directly to the IT Infrastructure Manager this role maintains and implements data, voice, and video network systems, equipment, software and all processes necessary to support our client's network environment. Additionally, this role is responsible for monitoring the network environment, using advanced technologies, and resolving issues and/or problems associated with the data, voice, or video network infrastructure.
What You Would Do:
* Communicate and live out our client's mission statement, core values, and core purpose
* Provide members and staff with secure, reliable, efficient, and user-friendly network that supports short and long term objectives for our client
* Manage and maintain networks used to support business operations and member facing systems
* Collaborate with staff both internal and external to the department to provide system support and improvements that benefit either staff or members directly
* Assist in developing plans for network systems that support the business objectives to either improve business functionality or provide enhancements for member facing systems
* Assist in disaster recovery planning and facilitation of communications network needed to support enterprise disaster recovery needs
Job Knowledge:
Proficiently apply required knowledge and skills to job functions. Utilize and understand our client's policy and procedures as they apply to job functions while continuing to grow knowledge, skill, certification, education, and/or training that can be applied to job functions. Show clear understanding of individual and team performance impact on our client's objectives.
* Design and engineer data, voice, and video network architecture and solutions to meet the growing and changing needs of the Credit Union and its members.
* Configure, install and troubleshoot network technologies, such as router, switches, and firewalls, including: configuring and troubleshooting network routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, BGP)
* Working knowledge of local, wide area, and metropolitan area networks; including: ELAN, SDWAN, Analog and Digital Circuits, Ethernet, etc.
* Cisco router configuration and management, including monitoring and configuration tools; data circuit/WAN support; Ethernet topologies and data/voice communications
* Configure, install and troubleshooting voice systems, circuits, and phones, including configuring and troubleshooting call center technologies and advance call routing.
* Configure, install and troubleshooting video conferencing systems, circuits, and edge devices, including configuring and troubleshooting video integration and collaboration technologies.
* Establish standards for documenting information systems and changes to them and for testing new systems and updates for current programs before they are put into production
Qualifications may include:
Education/Experience:
* Bachelor's Degree preferred
* At least 5 years of related work experience
* Certifications such as CCNA or CCNP are preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Competencies
Advanced knowledge of voice, data, and video network technologies and protocols. Functional knowledge of new and emerging networking technologies, systems, and resources in the industry. Including but not limited to:
* Knowledge and understanding of wired and wireless network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/MAN) and associated protocols
* Knowledge and experience in enterprise networking technologies such as routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, NAC, VLAN's, and gateways.
* Ability to develop, improve and document repeatable processes and procedures.
* Strong analytical and organizational skills
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to directly and indirectly mentor and motivate staff
* Ability to work in direct, professional, contact with a wide variety of staff daily
* Ability to travel locally and work irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays if needed
* Ability to organize, prioritize and accurately work under pressure to meet the needs of our client

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
