What You'll Do:
As the Noise and Vibration Engineer, you will develop, model, and test application-specific solutions for vibration issues to create innovative noise and vibration control solutions that meet our customer's exacting requirements.
Your Accountabilities in the Role:
Develop, model, and test application-specific solutions to resolve vibration issues for improved product performance and customer satisfaction.
Analyze vibration and/or noise concerns for specific customer applications to deliver targeted recommendations that reduce noise levels and enhance product reliability.
Conduct experimental modal testing on various structures, identifying mode shapes, resonant frequencies, and modal loss factors to support effective vibration control strategies.
Implement practical, manufacturable solutions tailored to customer requirements, ensuring seamless integration into production and enhanced product functionality.
Research and learn product features and simulation tools to support or manage projects in an efficient and on-time manner.
Provide technical support to internal teams and external clients, reducing troubleshooting time and enhancing customer trust.
Create and present reports to internal and external customers as required ensuring clarity, transparency and actionable insights.
Maintain and enhance in-house testing capabilities, to ensure increased accuracy and efficiency in data collection and analysis for ongoing and future projects.
Manage and conduct a variety of durability and environmental tests for product evaluation.
Work directly with our customers to understand technical issues and design application specific solutions.
Manages projects to ensure on time and on budget completion.
Position Requirements:
Education: Bachelors Degree in Engineering in Mechanical, Structural, Vibration/Acoustics or similar related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Experience: 3+ years of vibration or acoustics engineering experience in a product development environment. Will consider less experience with a Master's degree in Vibration/Acoustics field. Must have experience in one or more functional areas; Vibration and acoustic (including sound transmission loss) testing, or constrained layer damping (CLD) evaluation. Must have prior experience with project planning as well as post processing test data and developing final reports.
Certifications: Lean, Six Sigma, and/or Quality certifications would be a plus.
Functional Skills: Strategic-thinking skills with the ability to research, develop, plan, organize, and implement initiatives; results-oriented; strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills; ability to manage and drive projects and metrics; Familiar with setting up priorities, goals, and metrics.
Technology Skills: Strong aptitude with computers. Experience with Finite Element simulation tools and Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel are needed. Knowledge of damping system design theory is preferred. Programming experience with MATLAB or similar scientific programming language preferred. Experience with FEMAP and NX Nastran preferred.
Communication Skills:Excellent written & verbal communication skills, ability to present to internal team members and customers required.

Pay/Salary : Salary based on proven expertise.

Reports To: Engineering Group Leader
Core Hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (includes a 1 hr. lunch; will work approx. 8 – 9 hours within this timeframe)
Typical Work Week: M-F; occasional weekend work where required; 40-45 hours a week on average

Travel: As needed for customer project support
