Data Engineer Opportunity The Data Science and Analytics team within OCI's Infrastructure Planning organization is looking for an experienced data engineer to join our team developing large-scale data models that enable rapid self-service analytics. Our broader organization is responsible for long-term strategic planning, strategy, and execution across our datacenter portfolio, hardware lifecycle, and network connectivity. Our mission is to empower decision-makers with access to reliable, high-quality data that can be used to inform both strategic decisions and tactical day-to-day operations. We are seeking a driven, hands-on data engineer that is passionate about working with complex datasets and thrives in an iterative and collaborative environment. You will partner with teams throughout Oracle to ingest data, translate business problems into technical requirements, and design data engineering solutions to solve those problems. In this role you will partner with data architects, software developers and analysts to deliver robust solutions to nuanced questions. In this role you will have full access to OCI's Autonomous Database and Oracle Analytics, plus the ability to use any open-source technologies you prefer (Python, R, etc.). Expert-level SQL development and data modeling skills are required for this role, while Excel modeling and rapid-prototyping experience is preferred. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or information systems Strong analytical background and business acumen 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, or similar data-centric roles 6+ years of experience in a senior engineer, staff engineer, or architect-level data engineering role Excellent technical writing and data flow visualization skills Expert-level SQL proficiency (PL/SQL, T-SQL, or other SQL languages) Proficiency with ETL design, implementation, and optimization Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in a quantitative field 3+ years of experience as a lead data engineer or data architect 3+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure or supply chain execution Proficiency with machine learning, predictive analytics and intermediate data science techniques Proficiency with application development tools (Oracle Apex, PowerApps, etc.) Disclaimer: Certain US customer or client-facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates. Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only. US: Hiring Range in USD from: $97,500 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
