Overview Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) SCHIE is responsible for powering Microsoft's 'Intelligent Cloud' mission by delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies for over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Teams, OneDrive, and Microsoft Azure. As Microsoft's cloud business expands, the ability to deploy new hardware infrastructure efficiently and at scale is crucial. The Cloud AI & Advanced Systems Engineering (CAASE) team plays a key role in defining operational success metrics, improving planning, quality, delivery, scale, and sustainability of cloud hardware. We are seeking passionate engineers to help manage and optimize our Cloud infrastructure. The role of Principal Hardware Engineer involves:
Owning end-to-end product delivery from concept to launch Driving cross-functional technical decisions at the program level Managing design deliverables quality Collaborating with TPMs to define program scope, schedule, and budget Working with architecture, silicon engineering, firmware, hardware design, validation, OS, manufacturing, and customer teams Driving analysis and risk assessment of new, unique, and difficult technologies Onboarding innovative technologies through collaboration with partners Working closely with validation, systems, and manufacturing engineering teams to resolve issues
