We are looking for a Principal Tooling Quality Engineer who will work with the Global Tooling Team to provide support to all Aerostructures sites and suppliers. You will be collaborating with mechanical engineering, the data analytics team, supply chain, production and suppliers.
As part of the Global Tooling Group Team you will play a key role in ensuring all tools meet and/or exceed our customer expectations. You will provide support and oversite for Metrology Inspections at all Aerostructures sites.
What You Will Do
Develop inspection plans, requirements, and procedures to ensure tool / product conformance.
Metrology inspection and reverse engineering in support of new business
Support inspection activities by providing complete documentation and inspection packages as required by contract.
Participate in, support, mentor and coordinate various levels of Quality requirements related to tooling
Conduct quality contract reviews and incorporate customer requirements into tool quality procedures.
Technical review of Tooling data in support of FAI’s.
Perform tooling assessment and audits at suppliers.
Support equipment certification of Laser Trackers / PCMM / Scanners, Digital Product Definition (DPD) plan, software testing, data analysis and training.
Support tooling transfers and startup activities to resolve Quality issues.
Maintain Site quality records, metrics, and databases.
Develop, manage and maintain Scripts and Macros to reduce cycle time and increase efficiency of the team
Create presentations to internal management level personnel.
May travel less than 50% of the time domestically and internationally.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
Understanding of design and manufacturing methods with the ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D drawings.
Experience with ISO 9001 / AS9100 standards.
Experience with MS Office-Excel, Word & PowerPoint, MS Access
Experience in quality, manufacturing, or production engineering roles
Qualifications We Prefer
3-5 yrs experience in CATIA V5 or similar CAD system.
Structured problem-solving tools.
Experience with Laser Trackers, PCMMs, Scanners, Photogrammetry, or similar metrology systems
VBA and other programming skills a plus

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
